Friendship

This has been an interesting topic most especially in the last 4 years of college. What is it and what isn’t it and more importantly, what do I see it as?

A friend is…

A friend is one who walks in when others walk out.
Walter Winchill

A friend is someone who is always there and will always, always care. A friend is a feeling of forever in the heart.

A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are.

Everyone hears what you say. Friends listen to what you say. Best friends listen to what you don’t say.

On Choosing Friends:

**Be careful the environment you choose for it will shape you; be careful the friends you choose for you will become like them.**
W. Clement Stone

**Choose your friends wisely-they will make or break you.**
J. Willard Marriott

These two quotes have had much relevance in my life and have proven to be true over and over again.

And in relationship to our enemies…

True friends stab you in the front. Oscar Wilde

~ False friends are worse than open enemies ~Proverb

The antidote for fifty enemies is one friend.  ~Aristotle

In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.” -MLK Jr.

You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life.
Winston Churchill

No accurate thinker will judge another person by that which the other person’s enemies say about him.
Napoleon Hill

But most importantly:

Even though we’ve changed and we’re all finding our own place in the world, we all know that when the tears fall or the smile spreads across our face, we’ll come to each other because no matter where this crazy world takes us, nothing will ever change so much to the point where we’re not all still friends.
